Welcome to FLO Cycling

First things first, let me introduce myself and give you a little history on FLO. 

My name is Jon Thornham, Cofounder, CEO, head engineer, all the things, at FLO. I was born and raised in Canada and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada full time after University. I am a mechanical engineer by trade and entrepreneur at heart. 

My co-founder, a former triathlete, also an engineer, came to me asking how much I thought his wheels cost. I was blown away by the price tag. 🤯

FLO was born in 2012 after realizing there were two types of wheel companies: 

1. Well engineered wheels + Sold through retail = $$$$ (a very high price tag for the consumer) 
2. Wheels sold consumer direct – Engineering (companies buy an open mold product from overseas and just add a logo)  = a poor performing, but affordable, wheel 

We decided to merge the best of both worlds.

Well engineered wheels + Sold Consumer Direct = Fast, affordable, wheels

Our product, now on generation 3 (and the fastest wheels we’ve ever made), continues to be based on research, and design and is still sold consumer direct.

Not only that but when a wheel is sold, a $$ portion goes to our Bike for A Kid Program and One Wheel, One Tree initiative. Bike For A Kid donates 1% of all sales to buy bikes and helmets for kids in need. One Wheel, One Tree plants one tree for each wheel we ship. To lessen our carbon footprint a bit more, we ship using specially designed eco-friendly packaging.
